The DC Preservation League is hosting the next virtual session of its Stewardship for Climate Action initiative on Wednesday, December 8th! This free program will explore case studies of retrofit scenarios utilized in existing buildings in the DMV area. Presenters include representatives from Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS, BELL Architects, Cunningham | Quill Architects, ISTUDIO Architects, Quinn Evans Architects, StudioMB, and Teass|Warren Architects.

Park + Ford,  Alexandria, VA

David Haresign, FAIA will present the strategies and challenges the design team faced utilizing existing resources and converting an office space to residential space. Park + Ford is an adaptive use of a pair of existing 14-story buildings at Park Center, built in the 1980’s. One of the key architectural challenges of the project is utilizing the existing components and materials of both buildings and introducing design elements to make both residential buildings.
