Why Do You Give Back?

In the most recent volume of the University of Virginia School of Architecture’s Colonnade, David Haresign, FAIA is quoted on his commitment to giving back to the A-School. David has made a planned gift to the School to fund the David T. and Patricia L. Haresign Endowed Scholarship Fund in Architecture, which will support an annual scholarship for an outstanding undergraduate student in architecture, based on merit and demonstrated financial need. The Haresigns are also longtime Dean’s Forum members. David is an active member of the University of Virginia School of Architecture Regional Advisory Committee.

Through giving to the School of Architecture I want to help talented and deserving students gain the critical and problem-solving skills I learned and still use in my architectural practice every day. At the same time I hope to strengthen the School’s broader culture of giving – inspiring passionate practitioners who are driven to excel in design, and to contribute to the profession and their communities.

-David T. Haresign, BSArch ’76
