The renovation of this four-story apartment building was one of the first projects in Washington, DC submitted and approved under the Enterprise Green Communities program creating eco-friendly affordable housing. The gut renovation and reconfiguration of all residential units and the unimproved basement and crawl spaces resulted in six additional units and an increase from 48 to 54 units. Existing stairs were replaced by two new staircases and the abandoned elevator shaft was reconfigured to accommodate a new elevator serving all levels. Improved common areas include a community room, management office, laundry room and tenant storage.
