On Wednesday, over 300 of D.C.’s developers, architects, city officials, and more will gather at the Hamilton Live to discuss how to best tackle the affordable housing crisis and make a lasting impact for D.C. residents to come. Bonstra | Haresign ARCHITECTS is proud to partner with the National Building Museum as a sponsor of the second annual Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF: D.C.), the nation’s largest film festival devoted to the creative spirit that drives architecture and design. On Thursday, February 21st, the film festival’s Opening Night celebration in Washington, D.C. will include the premier screening of Frank Gehry: Building Justice, a thought-provoking film on what it would mean to re-design the American prison, followed by a private reception and panel discussion. The festival will continue through Sunday, February 24th, screening films every 30 minutes beginning at 5pm on Friday.

The story of the Ten at Clarendon spans seven years and three different building designs as CRC Companies LLC successfully aggregated empty buildings and lots along 10th Street North in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington. Stretching longer than a football field, the new five-story, 143-unit mixed-use building offers a mix of one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments.

The Sanctuary is the product of an 18-month restoration and conversion of an iconic 1897 Capitol Hill Gothic Revival church into 30 unique residential condominiums.

The completion of our recent project, Jackson Crossing, concludes the transformation of an industrial and auto-centric area into a dignified 5-story, 78-unit apartment community in Alexandria, VA fit for a lively mixed-use and pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. Consistent with our commitment to design with an elevated purpose of housing for all, this project targets families at or below 60% of the area median income. Jackson Crossing recently won a Montgomery County Affordable Housing Award.
