The complete renovation of this apartment building is part of a larger overhaul of Jubilee Housing’s stock of affordable housing in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of the nation’s capital. In addition to a complete restoration of the existing historic building, the project features 27 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments situated around courtyard entrances. The previously unused substandard basement was underpinned, excavated, and outfitted for the Jubilee Jumpstart neighborhood day care facility. The building has been fitted with new HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, improved with laundry facilities and a community meeting room. Providing needed affordable housing in a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood, Ontario Court utilized innovative funding involving private and public low-income tax credit financing.
