What an incredible night!
On April 18th, our founding partners Bill Bonstra, FAIA, LEED AP, and David Haresign, FAIA, had the to speak about our firm’s book, Designing Community, at the National Building Museum. It was an honor to share stories of the design process and our work, influences, and ethos!
Special thanks to:
Roger K. Lewis, who wrote the foreword for Designing Community, for his introductory remarks and participating in the following panel discussion.
Susan Piedmont-Palladino, Director of the Virginia Tech Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center, for her moderation and input in the panel discussion.
Diane Rhyu Taylor, Director of Public Programs at the NBM, for working tirelessly with us to coordinate the event.
Cathy Frankel, who spoke on behalf of the NBM to introduce Roger.
… and most of all to our friends, family, teammates, and clients!
“I am pleased with the completion of our milestone publication showcasing 24 years as a firm over my 40 year career. Performing at such a high level side by side with talented architects and entrepreneurial clients who understand the value of great architectural design is of utmost personal satisfaction. I believe that with effective participation by team members with their full focus and energy, we can do great things to amplify community benefits and have lasting impact on our urban environment. I am energized knowing there is more inspiring work to do!”
Bill Bonstra, FAIA, LEED AP
“It is an honor to have been given the opportunity to speak about ‘Designing Community’. With over two decades of projects, our publication reflects the transformative impact architecture has on our communities. I am grateful for our talented team and wonderful clients, without whom our work would not be possible. As we look forward, I hope to continue challenging ourselves and inspiring the future of meaningful architectural design in the District.”
